2621 Hanover Avenue Richmond, VA 23220
Pedal through Petals. Join us for a guided tour of Richmond's most gorgeous gardens, on your bike! Please bring your bike, a water bottle and a bike helmet (helmets are required to ride). (If you don't have a bike, you can rent one).
Party Central is at Agecroft Hall & Gardens. You can use the "bike valet" while you register for the ride. Registration begins at 8:00 am. Then, starting in waves at 9:00, through a final start time for some at about 10:00, your guide will lead you through the gracious neighborhoods. From time to time, you will stop, dismount your bike and tour some gorgeous gardens.
Your group of riders will be assigned a ride leader who will make sure you do not get lost. Nobody will be left behind. Afterwards, you will return to Party Central, where you can get food and beer, wine or a cocktail. We will have silent auction with some amazing items!
Crush Cancer 5K. New this year! Join us for a fast and flat chip-timed race through beautiful Windsor Farms, designed in the 1920s to look like a quaint English village. Runners will find the course flat and fast, but walkers will enjoy stopping to smell the roses: flowers will be in bloom everywhere you go! The race is co-hosted by Amy’s Army of Cancer Warriors and proceeds will go to cancer research at VCU Massey Cancer Center right here in RVA. After running through the finish line, children with cancer will present the awards to the fastest runners. The amazing after-party takes place at Agecroft Hall, a majestic Tudor mansion brought to Virginia piece by piece from Manchester, England. Be sure to visit the gorgeous garden, situated on 23 beautifully landscaped acres overlooking the James River. Take your turn at hitting a piñata filled with fun, dance to the music, check out everything the vendors have to offer, and enjoy lunch under the trees on the lawn.
A VIP Ticket will entitle you to a fun Cinco de Mayo necklace, yours to keep, a pint glass, two drinks (beer, wine, cocktails and mocktails offered) and lunch. And, thanks to sponsors, almost all of the VIP ticket price goes to cancer research. Walkers welcome.
VOLUNTEERS: Every volunteer will receive a FREE Massey T-shirt, a coupon for lunch and (if 21+) two drinks coupons.
Proceeds from the bike tour and silent auction are for the benefit of Amy's Army of Cancer Warriors. We will donate the proceeds to VCU Massey Cancer Center, to be used for life-saving research here in RVA.
*Please Note: We ride and run rain or shine, and we have no rain date. In case of severe weather, AACW reserves the right to cancel, alter or modify the course for safety concerns. In any case, because our mission is to raise money to fund cancer research, we do not refund ride fees, transfer registration to another year, or transfer registration to other riders. In the unlikely case a ride is canceled, you may claim your registration fee as a tax-deductible donation.*
